​Covid restrictions had relaxed enough by early 2021 that Mohini and her crew could finally venture north again to explore some of the countries between the Virgin Islands and Grenada that we were unable to gain entry to during the final leg of our passage from the Bahamas. There were still quarantine periods and mask mandates imposed by most countries and between the four of us, it was estimated we were subjected to more than a two-dozen deep-nasal swabs. In retrospect, every tear was worth it.

So many memories! Different cultures and history. New friends and new challenges. Hard work and easy nights. By the end of 2021, in the final weeks leading up to my return to Canada, I grieved the end of this dream but knew that soon enough, if I kept looking, I'd find a new one to follow.
