How do we get started? Regardless of the deliverables, my process is the same. First, send me a message. I'll forward you my intake form to ask you a few details about your business. Then we'll have meeting - either virtually or in person to discuss scope of work, talk about some ideas and your budget. I'll issue an invoice and once I receive your deposit, the design work starts.
Do you charge hourly or by fixed rate? My fees are based on how long I anticipate it will take to complete your project. Only after we discuss the scope of work, can I provide a fixed price for my services. If you have a set budget, we'll make a plan together that will focus on what will give you the most value for your dollar. If the scope of work changes, we'll agree on any adjustments. Just know, you'll never be surprised at your final invoice by hidden costs. You only pay what you've agreed to.
How long does it take? Duration varies and depends on the scope of work. A new Logo and Identity package might take weeks or a month depending on how much research is required to flesh out your unique brand. Whereas the drawing of a digital Logo from one of your ideas might be hours or days depending on it's complexity. It also depends on you. You'll be required to review and give feedback during the process. There will be revisions, and production of the final artwork for its intended application also takes time.
Will you do quick-turnaround jobs? Not as a habit, but it really depends on the scope of work and what you consider a "quick-turnaround". Ideally some collaboration is involved and creativity isn't pulled out of a hat - it takes time. I prefer not to rush the process to ensure you get my best possible work.
Will you design a one-off item like a business card? Absolutely! When I design a business card for you, I set you up with an online printer so you can reorder whenever you like. If you ever need a name or contact information changed on your business card, or you hire a new employee, come to me and I'll make those changes for free. You just pay printing costs.
What software do you use? I use Adobe Creative Suite. Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop are the #1 desktop publishing software used by professional graphic designers worldwide. I also have animators, photographers, website builders, social media gurus and other resource partners to help bring all your graphics and promotional needs to life.
Do you build websites or code? Just like you, I can use drag-and-drop website builders like SquareSpace or Wix. These platforms are AMAZING for simple websites. In fact, I built my own website on the WIX platform. But if you need complex-coding, no. I do not code. But I do work well with others.
